PENGGUNAAN SISTEM LAPIS LINDUNG JENIS POLYURETAN UNTUK APLIKASI DI DAERAH MARITIM[Using Polyurethane Type for Coating System at Maritim Environment]

Abstract

Marine environment is an agresif condition for the corrosion attack of the metal. There are many structures of metal especially steel as used at industries, concrete pile, marine transportation and other was corrosion at this environment. From economic sides is sdvantages and dangerous on maritim area. To prevent this condition commonly using coating to separate the metal and corrosive environment. Either one of coating type for research is polyurethane. The two kinds of products on market has already examination in laboratory test as salt spray test, humidity test and UV test exposed as long as 168, 336 and 504 hours and field test exposed as long as 91and 433 days. The evaluation such as blistering, cracking, bending, rusting, impact, adhesion, creepage, chalking, hardness dan color changes has been done. The result shown the polyurethane type is suitable for prevention of metal in maritim environment.
