Abstract

In present work, the effect of caustic addition, temperature and reaction time on the phase formation of Sodium titanate and Sodium ferite during the Roasting of Ilmenit – Bangka were studied. The Roasting experiment was carried out by using the Electrical Mufle Furnace. The variabel for experiment are covering: a) Rasio of NaOH to Ilmenite from 0,5 to 4, b) Roasting Temperature from 400 °C to 800 °C, and c) reaction time from 0,5 hours to 10 hours. The result of analysis to the Calcine produced from experiment by using X-ray Diffraction shows that the intensities of X-ray Diffraction of Sodium Titanate and Sodium Ferrite increase when the ratio of NaOH to Ilmenit was increased from 0.5 to 4, roasting temperature was increased from 400 °C to 800 °C and reaction time was increased from 0,5 hours to 10 hours.
