Abstract

A research to study the reaction kinetics of copper dissolution from malachite into sulfuric acid solution has been done through experiments in laboratory scale at Pusat Penelitian Metalurgi LIPI, using 1 liter capacity glass, equipped by heater and stirrer which is driven by electric motor. The result of this experiment is 95,63% copper can be dissolved into sulfuric acid solution 7,5% from ore malachite -100 mesh, the temperature is 60 °C during 2 hours, and reaction kinetics of dissolution follow the models of reaction that control by diffusion process with the activation energy 41 Kkal/mol.
