PENAMBAHAN AlTiB SEBAGAI PENGHALUS BUTIR PADA PROSES RAPID SOLIDIFICATION ALUMINIUM [Addition of AlTib As Grain Refiner On Rapid Solidification Process of Aluminium]

Abstract

In this study AlTiB was added as grain refiner on rapid solidification aluminium. The purpose of this study is to determine the influent of AlTiB as grain refiner on microstructures and mechanical properties of aluminum rapid solidification process. Aluminium plate that was produced by rapid solidification process examined by using vicker’s hardness tester and optical microscope. The highest average hardness value of aluminum plate with 2 mm of thickness is 29.39 VHN and average grain size is 70µm by additional of 0.03wt% AlTiB as grain refiner.
