Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the social interactions and cultural adaptation that occur between the local community in Taluditi Subdistrict, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, and transmigrants. This study uses a mixed methods approach to collect data, which includes field observations, questionnaire distribution in seven villages, and focus group discussions (FGD) involving the local community. While qualitative data is used to clarify the results, quantitative data is used to determine the internal and external factors that influence socio-cultural dynamics. The Likert scale and SWOT analysis are used to analyze quantitative data. The results of the study show that social interactions between transmigrants and the local community are relatively harmonious, characterized by social cooperation, social acceptance, and high cultural tolerance. In addition, cultural adaptation is going well despite challenges such as differences in values and social customs, as well as limitations in cross-cultural communication. The social and cultural conditions of Taluditi Subdistrict are placed in Quadrant I (progressive strategy), according to SWOT analysis. This shows that internal strengths and external opportunities are more dominant than weaknesses and threats. Therefore, to maintain social integration and sustainable cultural adaptation in the transmigration area, inclusive social interaction and institutional support are very important.
