This edition of Eksplorium features four (4) research articles from various scientific fields. The first paper, titled “Analysis of the Validated Transition Failure Criterion Model for Slope Stability in the Final Wall of a High-Sulphidation Epithermal Open-Pit Mine,” explores the application and performance of the Transition Failure Criterion model in evaluating slope stability conditions and potential failure mechanisms in the final wall of an open-pit mining operation. The second paper, “Preliminary Study of Yttrium Extraction from Tin Slag Using Hydrochloric Acid,” examines the feasibility of recovering yttrium from tin slag through acid leaching processes and evaluates key parameters affecting extraction efficiency. The third paper, “Analysis of Rock Mass Quality and Support Requirements Using Q-System – Case Study: Kalan Uranium Exploration Tunnel, West Kalimantan, Indonesia,” discusses assessing rock mass quality and determining appropriate tunnel support systems based on the Q-System classification in an underground uranium exploration setting. The final paper, “Tin Mineralization in Tanjung Genting Sandstone, Terap Village, Bangka Belitung Islands Province,” presents the characteristics, distribution, and geological controls of tin mineralization hosted within sandstone units in the study area.
