This paper raises the experience of women from the households of poor farmers and fishermen in their 'struggle' to face the effects of climate change that is increasingly perceived to be strenuous within these 3 to 5 years. Departing from several studies that have been done by PPK-LIPI in several places in Indonesia, this topic is lifted to demonstrate the ability of women in their struggle with the changing of the environment so as to overcome the household's problems they have to face, especially related to the decrease in revenue as the indirect impacts of climate change. This topic is interesting to study because of the emergence of the paradox of the women's position. On one hand, women are considered to be more vulnerable than men, but on the other hand, they also have the tenacity to remain 'survive' more. Through this paper the phenomenon can be analyzed so it can become the 'lesson learned' for the observers of the problems caused by climate change. One of the conclusions in this paper is the importance of having to consider the gender issues in the policy formulation related to the issue of climate change which so far has not been touched yet. The data that was used for this article comes from the KDP LIPI review in the Lamongan region and the North and East Lombok 2012-2013.
