The measure of poverty is often one of the benchmarks in assessing the success of development. However, measuring poverty using the monetary approach might only capture a small part of the poverty problem. Therefore, a multidimensional approach is also needed to fully understand the poverty problem. Banten Province has been chosen as a study site since it has the highest multidimensional poverty rate on Java Island. It is also the only province with a higher multidimensional poverty rate than the monetary poverty rate in 2018 on Java Island. This study aims to calculate the percentage of multidimensional poor households in each regency/municipality to determine the general description and variables that affect households’ multidimensional poor status in Banten in 2020. Multidimensional poor status is determined using the Alkire-Foster method. The analytical methods used are descriptive and inferential analysis using multilevel binary logistic regression. The results show that education level of household head, occupation type of household head, number of household members, classification of residence area, monetary-poor status of the household, unemployment rate, length percentage of roads with good and moderate conditions, and expected years of schooling significantly affect households’ multidimensional poor status in Banten in 2020.
