Abstract

Contraceptive use among childbearing-age couples in Indonesia tends to stagnate, ranging between 55%- 56% over the last three years. This achievement is still far from the government's target of 62.92% of couples using contraception by 2023. This study aimed to analyse the factors that influence the use of contraceptives in childbearing-age couples in DKI Jakarta in 2022. This study employed a cross-sectional design using secondary data from Susenas 2022. This study's sample comprised childbearing-age couples with complete data residing in DKI Jakarta, totalling 1,824,194 respondents after weighting. Data analysis was performed using chi-square and multiple logistic regression tests. The results showed that three variables were closely related to the use of contraceptives as factors, namely age, occupation, and education. Furthermore, higher education was the most influential factor in the use of contraceptives among childbearing-age couples in DKI Jakarta in 2022. The findings of this study indicate that the government should collaborate with companies to provide more education and contraceptive services to working childbearing-age couples, including through health and family planning clinics within companies.
