SI UNYIL DARI SUDUT PANDANG DROMOLOGI BUDAYA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Si Unyil, an iconic puppet in Indonesia, has withstood fluctuations in popularity, attesting to its enduring presence. This study investigates the evolutionary trajectory of Si Unyil as a children's media entity, examining adaptations influenced by media commercialization, cultural identity shifts, and complex audience responses, particularly pertaining to the impact of children's television on learning, personality development, and moral values. Employing qualitative methods with a cultural dromology approach, the study delves into the puppet's evolutionary process in response to the accelerated pace of time. Data collection involves attentive listening and note-taking, with analysis utilizing the agih and manga-matrix methods. The former categorizes data, aligning it with the research focus, while the latter identifies character traits, presented descriptively. This research yields a comprehensive understanding of Unyil's transformations, elucidating their implications for its persistence and audience reception.
