Peer Review Process

The editorial panel initially screens all manuscripts submitted for scope, relevance, and scientific quality. Suitable manuscripts are sent for peer-review anonymously.

The articles submitted to the journal will be peer-reviewed by at least 2 (two) peer-reviewers and check for originality and plagiarism.

As the journal is peer-reviewed, a double-blind reviewed process will be followed.

The final decision of whether the manuscript is accepted for publication is under the editor-in-chief’s authority with acknowledgment from the editorial board.

The accepted articles will be available online following the peer-reviewing process.

Reviewers of the Jurnal Penelitian Politik (JPP) are competent experts in political science or international relations and can work professionally by upholding the ethical code of scientific publications as reviewers. The peer-review process of the JPP manuscript is as follows.

  1. The reviewers conduct a review of the manuscript according to their scientific field. If the manuscript is not under his/her field of competence, they have the right to refuse to undergo the review process and be transferred to another, more competent reviewer.
  2. The review is a double-blind review manuscript (the author and reviewer’s identity are removed), sent or submitted by the Section Editor or editorial secretaries.
  3. The reviewers judge the manuscript based on the manuscript’s content and quality within a maximum period of 2 (two) weeks from the date of manuscript received. If the manuscript review has not been completed within that period, the reviewer must confirm it with the journal’s editor-in-chief.
  4. The reviewers will be equipped a manuscript assessment form available on this electronic journal system during the manuscript review process. They can manually assess the manuscript on the review checklist form (Ms. Word format) sent by the Section Editor or editorial secretary.
  5. The review results are returned to the Section Editor or editorial secretary.
  6. The reviewers provide a decision on the review results:
  • Accept Submission (accepted manuscript).
  • Revisions Required (the manuscript needs to be revised by the author and returned to the reviewer).
  • Resubmit for Review (another reviewer should review the manuscript).
  • Resubmit Elsewhere (manuscripts should be sent to other journal publishers).
  • Decline Submission (rejected manuscript).
