The journal is committed to exploring and highlighting insights into key issues dealing with language and literature studies in Southeast Asia. While the journal's ultimate goal is to promote a critical understanding of global issues in all areas of Southeast Asian language and literature studies, it especially welcomes perspectives from marginalized communities in Southeast Asia and across the globe.

SALLS (e-ISSN: 3064-2019) publishes issues in April and October.

SALLS has been accredited with the SINTA 4 category based on the Decree of the Director General of Science and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 concerning the New Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals for Period 3 of 2025.
