Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate Ni-Carbon as catalyst to produce biofuel through the catalytic of Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The Ni Carbon was prepared using activated carbon and nickel nitrate solution of different concentration (1, 2, 3%). After that the prepared catalysts were characterized using XRD and SEM-EDX. XRD showes that catalyst has an intensity at 2θ = 21.8º; 21.9º; 26.5º; 36.2º; 42.2º. While the SEM shows that Ni successfully impregnated. The catalytic cracking of CPO was carried out at temperature 450 ° C, 500 ° C, 550 ° C. Results show that sample 2 gives the highest liquid cracking products percentage (CHP%) at 73,84%.
