Lack of infrastructure is one of the major challenge for improving investment in Indonesia, especially in electricity. Investment in this area is very much capital-intensive which is hardly fulfilled by the sole government budget. This circumstance initiated the government to cooperate with the private sector under the scheme of public- private partnership (PPP). This is a qualitative-study based on secondary and literature study to examine the trends, performance and potential impact of electricity investment under PPP. The study shows that regardless of the economic benefits of this scheme, the social cost may need to be considered as infrastructure plants interacted with the livelihood of people living in the area that raises the resistance and the environmental cause in order to find a win-win solution for all parties Involved.Downloads
