Focus And Scope
Kapata Arkeologi is an open-access journal, reviewed and assessed according to strict scientific principles, and meets international publication standards. We invite scientific contributions from Archaeology, History, and Anthropology, covering the Asia-Pacific and Australia regions. Articles can be original research, theoretical studies, or conceptual ideas, which can contribute to the existing international literature. We prioritise studies that include but are not limited to various topics such as: environmental archaeology, environmental history, maritime archaeology, maritime networks, human migration, archaeological landscapes, cultural heritage, local wisdom, and other related topics. Work can also be interdisciplinary, in nature and contribute to the understanding of human interactions with their environment in the context of prehistoric and historical periods.
Kapata Arkeologi is published by the Research Center for Environmental Archaeology, Maritime Archaeology and Cultural Sustainability - National Research and Innovation Agency, and is published biannually in July and December. We welcome the opportunity to publish special issues upon request. Special issues are possible on certain themes, are developing, or are often under-researched. Every article submitted to Kapata Arkeologi will not be charged an “Article Processing Fee”. This includes submission, review, editing, publishing, maintenance and archiving, and access to the full text of the article.
