Peer Review Process

Reviewers or peer review partners of the Indonesian Community Journal are competent experts in the fields of social science and humanity, and are able to work professionally by upholding the ethical code of scientific publications as reviewers. The MI manuscript peer-review process is as follows.

  1. The reviewer conducts a review (process of reviewing) the manuscript in accordance with its scientific field. If the manuscript is not in accordance with its field of competence, the reviewer has the right to refuse to review and be transferred to another more competent reviewer.
  2. The manuscript being reviewed is a double blind review manuscript (without the identity of the author and reviewer), which is sent or submitted by the Section Editor or the editorial secretariat.
  3. The reviewer reviews the manuscript based on the substance of the manuscript (article quality), not from the aspect of language style (copy editor's assignment) within a maximum period of 2 weeks from the date the manuscript is received. If within that time period the review of the manuscript has not been completed, the reviewer must confirm it to the Editor in Chief or the editor-in-chief of the journal.
  4. During the manuscript review process, the reviewer provides an assessment of the manuscript through the review checklist form/list available in this electronic journal application. If you find it difficult, the reviewer can evaluate the manuscript manually on the review checklist form (Ms.Word format) sent by the Section Editor or the editorial secretariat.
  5. Manuscripts resulting from the review are returned to the Section Editor or the editorial secretariat.
  6. The reviewer makes a decision on the result of the review:
  • Accept Submission (manuscript received)
  • Revisions Required (the manuscript needs to be revised by the author and returned to the reviewer).
  • Resubmit for Review (manuscripts should be reviewed by other reviewers).
  • Resubmit Elsewhere (manuscripts should be sent to other journal publishers).
  • Decline Submission (manuscript rejected).
