LIMNOTEK Perairan Darat Tropis di Indonesia is a peer-reviewed bi-annual scientific journal focusing on limnology and inland water sciences in tropical regions, with particular relevance to Indonesia and comparable environments. The journal publishes original research articles and review papers addressing the physical, chemical, biological, and ecological processes of inland water ecosystems, including lakes, reservoirs, rivers, wetlands, and other fresh and brackish water bodies.

The journal promotes an integrated understanding of the interactions between inland water ecosystems, water resources, and human activities, emphasizing sustainable management and conservation. LIMNOTEK encourages both mono-disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies employing diverse methodological approaches, including field observations, laboratory analyses, remote sensing, numerical modeling, and socio-ecological assessments.

Research topics covered include, but are not limited to:
limnology and aquatic ecology; hydrology and hydrogeology of inland waters; long-term monitoring and modeling of water quality and ecosystem dynamics; ecosystem services and valuation of inland waters; water governance and management policies; conservation, rehabilitation, and restoration of inland water ecosystems; impacts of climate variability and anthropogenic pressures; water-related disaster risks and resilience; and sustainable water resources management in tropical inland environments.
