Author Rights
At BRIN Publishing, we require authors to transfer non-exclusive publishing rights to facilitate the publication and distribution of research articles. This transfer of rights is formalized through a publishing agreement between the authors and BRIN Publishing, which explicitly outlines the transfer or licensing of copyright for publishing purposes. Importantly, authors retain the rights necessary to use and share their published articles. BRIN Publishing is committed to supporting authors in sharing, disseminating, and maximizing the impact of their research, including within various databases.
As an author publishing in Annales Bogorienses, you enjoy a wide range of rights regarding your article's use, including within your institution or company. These rights can be exercised without obtaining explicit permission, provided you adhere to the open-access Creative Common CC-by-SA License). These rights include:
- The author or their institution can freely use the article for classroom teaching and present it at meetings or conferences. Copies of the article may also be distributed to attendees without any restrictions.
- The author's company can utilize the article for internal training purposes without limitations.
- The article can be shared with colleagues for their research.
- The author can include the article in a future compilation of their works.
- The article may be incorporated into a thesis or dissertation without restrictions.
- Portions or extracts from the article can be reused in other works, provided proper acknowledgment of the original article is given.
- Derivative works based on the article can be created (excluding commercial purposes), as long as the original article is properly credited.
- The author or their institution can voluntarily post the article on open websites for scholarly purposes.
Authors, readers, and third parties have the freedom to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format. They may also remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use. However, appropriate credit must be given, including the name of the creator and attribution parties (with detailed information about the authors). A copyright notice, an open-access license notice, a disclaimer, and a link to the original material should also be provided. Additionally, any modifications to the material must be indicated, and a record of previous modifications should be maintained under a CrossMark Policy. Information regarding erratum or corrigendum notifications should also be included.
Moreover, authors, readers, and third parties can access, read, print, and download the article. They can redistribute or republish it by displaying it in repositories. It is also permissible to translate the article, download it for text and data mining, reuse portions or extracts in other works, sell or reuse it for commercial purposes, and remix, transform, or build upon the material. Contributions must be distributed under the same Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license as the original article.
Publishing Right
By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge and agree that, if accepted for publication, the non-exclusive publishing rights of the article will be assigned to the Publisher of Annales Bogorienses (BRIN Publishing).
Once an article is accepted, authors will receive a notification email, including a 'Copyright Transfer Agreement for Publishing' (CTAP) form. This form must be completed by the authors and is available online for convenience.
Annales Bogorienses and BRIN Publishing, along with the Editors and the Editorial Board, are committed to maintaining the highest standards to prevent the publication of incorrect or misleading data, opinions, or statements in the journal. However, it is important to note that authors and advertisers bear sole responsibility for the content of the articles and advertisements published in Annales Bogorienses.
It is important to remember that while we request a transfer of copyright for publishing through the CTAP, our journal ensures that the authors retain (or are granted back) significant scholarly rights, as mentioned earlier.
