About the Journal

Marine Research in Indonesia (e-ISSN: 2443-2008 p-ISSN: 0216-2873) is an international peer-reviewed on theoretical and applied sciences related to physical, chemical, biological, geological oceanographic as well as coastal management studies in the Indonesian seas and the adjacent Indo-Pacific region, published biannually online (June and December) by National Research and Innovation Agency. Open Access – free for readers and authors, with no article processing charges. Rapid Publication: manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 3 weeks after submission.

MRI has been published since 1956 by Indonesia's oldest marine research institute, the Research Center for Oceanography. Since 2022, the journal has been published by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), following the integration of LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) into the agency.
